Hybrid CO2 Resurfacing with Three Treatment Modes

ADVAFx® features three distinct resurfacing modes that allow providers to customize treatments based on patient needs and desired downtime.

  • Pulse Characteristics: Very low energy, ultra-short pulses

    Mechanism:

    Delivers thermal energy below the epidermis

    Heats the dermal collagen without disrupting the skin surface

    Stimulates fibroblast activity, triggering neocollagenesis and elastin remodeling

    •No open wounds, minimizing risk and minimizing downtime

    Clinical Effects:

    Smoother texture, refined pores, mild lifting/tightening*

    Gradual improvement over weeks post-treatment

    Downtime: Minimal to no downtime.

  • Mode: Micro-ablative (light epidermal vaporization)

    Pulse Characteristics: Moderate energy, short pulse duration

    Mechanism:

    Creates microcolumns of vaporization (tiny ablation channels) in the epidermis

    Surrounding tissue remains intact, allowing rapid re-epithelialization

    Thermal injury extends slightly into the dermis, promoting:

    • Collagen contraction

    • Neocollagenesis

    • Elastin remodeling

    Preserves stratum corneum in some areas, resulting in shorter downtime and faster recovery than fully ablative settings
